stYpe Camera Tracking Hardware

stYpe provides camera tracking hardware. Our flagship products, the RedSpy and the Stype kit are used by industry’s leading edge broadcasters such as Fox Sports, BBC, ITV, Al Jazeera, and many others. stYpe can provides turnkey solutions for clients looking to spice up their broadcasts with real-time 3D graphics, sports analysis and much more!

RedSpy

Optical camera tracking device for live broadcast and movie production. Blend of simplicity and accuracy.

Performance combined with power

Sets new speed and accuracy standards for tracking systems. The traditional problem of optical tracking systems is limited camera cable bandwidth. With RedSpy, we looked ahead and developed special algorithms for FPGA to quickly compress the 4K image before it’s sent over cable. This made the tracking faster, more responsive and more accurate.

Undercover. Every second counts

Unobtrusively detects its position using infrared LEDs.Invisible and harmless, RedSpy’s LEDs allow the system to blend with any environment. Once installed, RedSpy can start tracking 20 seconds upon power-on and requires no recalibration.

Reliable marker based detection

Reflective markers make it equally suitable for indoor and outdoor use. RedSpy emits infrared light which gets reflected back to the camera by reflective markers installed on the ceiling, side walls, or even the floor when used outdoors.

Camera Pedestals

Camera pedestals and RedSpy are a match made in AR heaven. Free movement of in-studio camera pedestals has always been one of the hardest problems to solve when it comes to camera tracking. Today, with a technology like RedSpy, it has become our favourite ‘problem’ to solve.

Steadicam and handheld

Finally, a wireless solution for steadicam and handheld cameras. RedSpy is the first solution on the market that can send data wirelessly. Additionally, it can be powered by a battery to be completely wire free, which is crucial for reliable steadicam operation.

Stype kit is a bolt-on camera tracking system for a camera crane. The system does not require any additional external sensors or infra-red cameras to deliver precise positional data of the camera in 3D space. Stype kit is specially designed, so there is no need for any physical modifications of the camera crane. This guarantees for fast setup times and even enables producers to use it on different broadcast locations throughout the day. On top of that, Stype kit is exceptionally portable, and that makes it perfect for outside virtual reality broadcast.

Top level broadcasters, including the BBC, Fox Sports, MTV and many others, are already enjoying all the benefits of using the Stype kit. The system can be paired with any render engine currently available on the market including Vizrt, Orad, Wasp3D, RT software, BrainStorm, XPression, Chyron Hego.

Stype kit has a powerful lens calibration feature that sets a new standard of quality and lets clients focus more on the creative aspect of the project and less on technicalities. The calibration is done within the Stype kit console. Add to this Stype kit’s automatic aiming and focusing (targeting) feature and you get a robust camera tracking system that is easy to setup, calibrate and use while producing professional results every time.
