Since the release of the BURANO camera, many users in the global production community have expressed concern about unwanted color shifts, particularly green tinting, when shooting under intense sunlight or studio lighting. Today, Sony is taking concrete steps to address this concern with a new infrared (IR) cropping filter designed to improve color accuracy in these harsh lighting conditions.

Free BURANO IR filter replacement

IR filter replacement is completely free of charge (including parts and labor) and will be available until May 31, 2026 on a first-come, first-served basis. BURANO owners are encouraged to contact their local Sony Service Center to schedule a replacement. Units that already have a visible protrusion at the top of the front optical filter confirm that they have a pre-installed enhanced IR crop filter and do not require service
