Tajikistan will prepare the legal framework for the transition to digital broadcasting in late 2018

The Committee of International Affairs, Public Relations and Information of the Lower House of the Parliament of Tajikistan plans to draft a law that will create the legal basis for the transition to digital broadcasting in accordance with OSCE standards and principles by the end of 2018, as reported by CA-News.org referring to the head of the committee Olim Salimzodou.

According to the deputy, the document will be based on a legal analysis of the current legislation in the republic, conducted by OSCE experts in the summer of this year.

The analysis was carried out at the request of the Parliament of Tajikistan in connection with the revision of legislation and the preparation of the legal framework for the transition to digital broadcasting.

The transition to the digital broadcasting was planned for 2015, but was postponed until 2020 due to lack of funds and necessary equipment.
