PM5005

Featuring premium audiophile design at an affordable price, the Marantz PM5005 stereo integrated amplifier features all-analog circuitry from input to output, and delivers wide frequency response, high dynamic range along with true low impedance drive capability and is rated to handle both 8 ohms and 4 ohms speakers.

Featuring current feedback power amplifier circuitry (a Marantz innovation), the power amplifier section also features pure discrete analog circuitry along with multiple high current discrete power output devices that are easily able to handle lower impedance loads and deliver high instantaneous peak current capability.

Rated at 40 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 55 watts per channel into 4 ohms, the PM5005 features A and B speaker outputs, for two sets of stereo speakers, or for bi-wiring with compatible stereo speakers.

The deluxe remote control provides discrete source input buttons, and includes additional buttons for direct control of the matching Marantz CD5005 player and Marantz Network Audio Players.

The PM5005 features a power amplifier section based on our renowned current feedback technology, a Marantz innovation that debuted on our very first power amplifier. High current discrete power output devices mounted on a generously-sized aluminum heat sink together provide high instantaneous peak current capability, and are easily able to handle dynamic bursts into lower impedance 4 ohm speaker loads (the current capacity for each amplifier channel is a substantial 16 amps).

Veteran audiophiles and new generation music lovers both know that the sonic allure of vinyl records often can’t be matched by digital audio sources, and the PM5005 includes multiple analog inputs including a MM (moving magnet) phono input.

There are also dual recording inputs and outputs, along with a headphone amplifier jack on the front panel, and the high grade speaker connectors can accept multiple speaker cable termination types.

The audio input and output jacks are all gold plated for maximum signal integrity.

To ensure the shortest signal path and the highest fidelity, the PM5005 features our Source Direct function, which bypasses the tone control and loudness control circuitry.

The volume amplifier circuit features fully discrete circuitry (no op amp chips in the signal path) for the widest bandwidth, lowest distortion, and highest dynamic range.

The elegant remote control includes additional function buttons that let you control a Marantz CD player and a Marantz Network Audio Player, for total system control with a single remote.

The PM5005 features remote control input and output jacks that let you hard wire the amplifier directly to a Marantz CD player, which in turn can be hard wired to a Marantz Network Audio Player.

For example, you can place a Marantz CD player on an open shelf for easy access, and place the PM5005 and a Marantz Network Audio Player tucked away in a cabinet and hidden from view, and control all 3 units with a single remote, which helps to eliminate component clutter.
