The first region of Kazakhstan is ready to transition to digital broadcasting

In the Mangystau region of Kazakhstan, all the preparatory work for the transition to digital television has been completed, according to 24.kz. Mangystau region should be the first region of the republic, which will switch to digital TV.

Today, out of 62 settlements in 48 there is an opportunity to receive a digital signal. In general, there are 21 digital stations in the region. Four of them were built, 17 modernized. At the moment 48 out of 62 settlements of the region have the ability to receive a digital signal. A total of 21 digital stations are located in the region – four of them have been built, 17 have been modernized.

«For a modern TV released after 2013, there is no need to buy an adapter, because there is a built-in format support and a satellite tuner. People with old TVs need to additionally buy receivers and tuners»,  –  told the director of the Mangystau branch of Kazteleradio Abdirahman Kenzhebaev.

According to the plan of the transition to digital television broadcasting, the following areas, which will switch to the new format, should be the Zhambyl and Turkestan (South-Kazakhastan region until June 2018) regions. Their transition is scheduled for December of this year. The whole republic is expected in the switchover to digital broadcasting by the end of 2020.
