Embrionix Unveils New IP-to-HDMI 2.0 Gateway

Embrionix Design has introduced a new IP-to-HDMI 2.0 gateway that simplifies 4K/UHD IP production monitoring workflows with universal support for all 4K/UHD signal formats and resolutions up to 4K/UHD 60Hz (with hitless redundancy).

Leveraging a 25GE IP interface, the new Embrionix emView gateway assures the integrity of the 4K/UHD image on an HDMI display, regardless of signal type or format—whether from a quad ST2110-1080p flow (Square Division or Two Sample Interleaved) or 1 x ST2110-4K/UHD flow

Renaud Lavoie, CEO and president of Embrionix, said that broadcasters need solutions that help simplify the challenges they face during the transition to IP. They also want to reduce overall footprint and energy costs.

“This high-density, universal gateway that fits in the palm of your hand, receives IP flows and control packets from a single fiber optical link to simplify long-distance connection to the HDMI display,” he said, adding that it also eliminates the need for additional equipment and cables.

Easy control is provided through the Ember+, RESTful or NMOS protocols, and the emVIEW frame can be powered either by redundant individual power supplies, or installed in the Embrionix emBOX 2RU rackmount bracket (which can accommodate 18 frames with redundant power supply).

Among other features, the emVIEW also allows for smooth switching of any IP signal between sources for a stable viewing experience as well as audio shuffling at the edge.
