Sony has released some new BURANO X-OCN and XAVC test files that are available to download. There is a range of sample clips for you to download featuring both exterior and interior scenes with challenging lighting and vibrant colors.

These shots are provided so that you can test and evaluate working with X-OCN and XAVC files. The selected files are representative of many of the different scan modes, frame rates and resolutions available from the Sony BURANO camera. All test footage was shot with a BURANO camera.

To help you appreciate the performance characteristics of some of these codecs, we have created a range of sample clips for you to download and test. There are exterior and interior scenes with challenging lighting and vibrant colours. There are X-OCN LT files each of the scan sizes currently supported including Full Frame 8.6K, Full Frame Crop 6K, Super 35 5.8K and Super 35 Crop 4K.

As well as the X-OCN files there are Full Frame 8K XAVC H-I files along with Full Frame Crop and Super 35 XAVC-I 4K and HD files. Clips are typically 10 seconds in duration with 24p and 48p frame rates, plus 120P in 4K 17:9.

The files are hosted on the Sony Ci Platform. The files can be downloaded conventionally or using Aspera. If you choose Aspera, the application will improve the download stability and, in most cases, improve the download speed. Once you have downloaded one or more of the file packages you should unzip the folder and place the files on an SSD drive or other suitably fast storage.
