Engaging Audiences: Al Araby TV Network Diversifies Live Video Coverage Using TVU Network’s Innovative Ecosystem
Since its inception, Al Araby TV Network has been at the forefront of adopting the latest broadcasting technologies, establishing a distinguished position in the dynamic media landscape of the Middle East. The network embraces technological innovation to provide comprehensive live coverage to its audience. Recently, it has completed an upgrade of its fleet of TVU One packs to the newest 5G-capable units, which enable fast, seamless, and high-quality broadcasting of major global events.
Mohamed Alaa Alsebay, Head of Field and Satellite Operations at Al Araby Television, highlights the success of the investment in the TVU system. He states, “The system has become the backbone of our daily operations, allowing us to provide fast and direct coverage of breaking news and special events.” He adds, “Using TVU One has enabled Al Araby Television to expand its coverage of major international events such as the war in Gaza, and elections in the United States, France, and Turkey.” Alsebay also praised TVU’s patented ISX technology, noting, “It has enhanced our ability to maintain high-quality broadcasts even under challenging connectivity conditions, which we successfully tested during the unprecedented crowds while covering the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.”
In addition to daily uses, Al Araby Television has enabled its network of over 60 correspondents to capture and broadcast video content directly from their smartphones and tablets using the TVU Anywhere app. The integration of this mobile app has diversified Al Araby’s content through swift deployments and strengthened the channel’s position as a leader in news by expanding correspondents’ ability to cover a wider range of events. This strategy has allowed Al Araby Television to triple its production while halving production costs.
The partnership between Al Araby TV Network and TVU has not been limited to live contributions. Utilizing TVU Grid, a cloud video distribution and point-to-multipoint video over IP platform, the network can efficiently share content between its various facilities with virtually no latency.
Moshab Youness, an engineer in Al Araby Television’s MCR, praised TVU’s commitment to providing necessary support. He says, “The TVU support team is always available when needed, and we appreciate their quick response when we encounter any technical issues.” ENG Cameraman Hassan Majeed shared a poignant story highlighting the value of TVU’s technical solutions: “The service helped Al Araby Television’s management track my location using TVU One’s geolocation feature when I was stranded in a remote area during a coverage, losing phone connectivity.”
For TVU, continued dialogue with Al Araby TV Network’s team supports the company’s mission. “We gain deep insights into Al Araby TV Network’s needs, enabling the development of tailored solutions for their success,” states Emad Qawasmi, TVU Network’s Managing Director of Middle East. “Ultimately, it helps us to continue revolutionizing the broadcasting landscape.”
