Brazilian Broadcaster Innovates with TVU Networks for Cloud-Driven Football Championship Coverage
TVU Producer played a central role in the workflow, unifying all essential functions within a single control platform. The broadcast was conducted remotely and 100% cloud-based, with a lean on-field team and full operational control – from camera management to communication with the reporter and commentator – seamlessly coordinated from TV Bahia’s headquarters.
The integration of TVU’s cloud solutions eliminated the need for complex physical infrastructure, enabling real-time adjustments such as camera switching and audio control.
Live inputs from the reporter, broadcast before, during halftime, and after the matches – including interviews with athletes – were processed through RPS One. Footage captured directly from the field was sent to TVU Producer, ensuring a seamless, high-quality broadcast. In total, seven video sources were managed across two RPS One systems, each capable of handling up to four sources.
During the match, the reporter also took on the role of commentator. Since her commentary did not require video, she used the TVU Anywhere app integrated with TVU Remote Commentator. This solution allowed the reporter and commentator to connect in real time with zero audio latency, ensuring quick and efficient interaction. TVU Remote Commentator proved indispensable by providing a shared virtual workspace, facilitating seamless communication, and eliminating the need for complex physical infrastructure
In the first system, four video feeds from the field/match were processed directly, while the second RPS One managed three additional sources: one from the reporter with her live inputs and two others capturing footage from the VAR (Video Assistant Referee) and the referee. Both RPS One systems were fully integrated with TVU Producer, enabling a centralized and efficient operation.
The RPS One stands out as an innovative solution that allows the transmission and reception of up to four synchronized video sources, with broadcast-quality resolution and ultra-low latency, directly to the cloud. This setup eliminated the need for complex on-site physical infrastructure, providing the flexibility for the team to operate remotely. The TV director, located at TV Bahia’s headquarters, remotely controlled the camera operators in the field using TVU Partyline, while the production coordinator, also at TV Bahia, managed audio and replays in real time. Thanks to the seamless integration of RPS One with TVU Producer, the entire team was able to collaborate from different locations while maintaining flawless quality and synchronization throughout the broadcast.
