The Blackmagic Design Ethernet Switch 820 was designed for SMPTE 2110 video commonly employed in the film and television industry. The Ethernet Switch is claimed to provide extremely high performance with eight high-speed 100G Ethernet QSFP ports.

Key features
- Designed for SMPTE 2110 Video
- 8 x 100G and 2 x 10G Ethernet Ports
- Front and Rear Ventilated Design
- Ports Located on Back, Easier Cabling
- 1G Control, 1G Management
- 2 x PTP Clock Ports
- Redundant Power Supply

It features a front and rear ventilated design with redundant power supply, and it incorporates two fast 10G Ethernet ports, two PTP clock ports, 1G control port, and 1G management port. All the ports are conveniently located on the back of the device to facilitate easier cabling, making it ideal for fly-pack and small broadcast truck use.
Eight separate 100G Ethernet connections use QSFP sockets and connect data ports on HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G, Blackmagic Cloud Store Ultra, or SMPTE-2110 networks with ATEM Constellation IP switchers, HyperDeck ISO Recorder 100G, and more.
The dedicated management port lets you run the Blackmagic Ethernet Switch utility software for status monitoring and software updates. This port is isolated from control, video, and audio networks, so it won’t interfere with operations. Users can download Blackmagic Ethernet Utility free for macOS or Windows.
Two redundant PTP clock Ethernet ports provide precise SMPTE-2110 timing synchronization. If one connection fails, the second port seamlessly maintains the timing signal. You can also connect two separate grandmaster clocks for added reliability during equipment failures or cable faults.
